Individual Actions to Reduce CO2 Level
The carbon dioxide level is increasing in the air, and this level shouldn’t rise more. In my point of view, the global warming is an important subject that should be taught at schools in more details, young people have to know how dangerous is it first.
In addition, the cars produce CO2 in big amounts and their number is increasing too, in my opinion Dubai’s metro is a great solution. Some other solutions are recycling, using solar system, planting trees, etc…
UAE and Global Warming
Learning more about the global warming made me think how it is connected to my country. I was really attracted to an article titled “Beating the Heat” that was on the “Gulf News” website.
Since the temperature in the UAE is always high, espicially in the summer; air conditioning is a basic need for anyone living in the UAE, although it has terrible effects on the environment and global warming, because of the amount of electricity it needs. However, I was raelly surprised when I read about the big amounts of money that people and companies spend on air conditioning.
I think that people should try reserve the energy and start buying the AC’s that don’t harm the enviroment. The companies too shouldn’t use this great amounts of AC’s in their projects.

Rise in Sea Level
Two things cause this riseing in sea level. The first reason is the water that is carried to the ocean when ice lands melt.
The other factor is when the temperature of the water increase the sea water weight decrease; therefore, it increase more in the planit. However, this rise in temperature makes the rise in sea level faster.
The rise in sea level is dangerous for the island and coastal countries, such as Syrilanca, Thailand, and Eygpt, since it might make the land not good for living, which might make the people leave those places.
Effects of Global Warming
When the Earth becomes warmer, oceans are warmer too, so the evaporation will increase. The environment will also change as the temperature increase; species will leave their surroundings, mostly animals that need cold weather, or they may extinct if they didn’t stand the change.
The increasing of temperature may lead to forest fires more often, which causes more carbon to be released to the atmosphere.
Humans’ health is affected because of the rise in temperature, especially the respiratory system. It is expected that global warming will lead to spreading of many diseases like malaria.
However, I chose to write about the rising in sea level as an effect of global warming in my next post.

Pollution from Airplanes
Studies had proved that 3.5 percent of global warming is caused by aviation; this percentage is expected to rise. Planes produce more carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, that any other public transport. Although airplanes cause a lot of damage, there are no taxes on the aircraft fuels, and planes are not examined for carbon dioxide productions.
Now days, companies are trying to find another fuel like hydrogen, but making airplanes harmless will take a lot of time. Therefore, travelers have the solution of this problem; by not traveling by plane at all.
What Causes Global Warming?
Scientist found that human activity is one thing that leads to global warming; we add large amounts of gases to ther atmosphere that traps heat. One of the main source of these gases is the fossil fuel that we use. These gases are produced as long as we drive our cars, use electricity, or use oil or natural gas . Cutting trees is another thing that makes global warming worse; since trees and other plants collect carbon dioxide.
The increase of gases prodiction causes global warming too; it traps energy in the atmosphere which makes the surface warm; this is called the greenhouse effect.
However, my next post will contain more information about how airplanes cause global warming.
Global Warming
In addition, the increase in global temperatures can cause changes in the farming sector, species extinctions, and increase in the insects that carries diseases.
